The Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH) in Mannheim, Germany is an independent public foundation of the State of Baden-Württemberg associated with the University of Heidelberg and is one of Europe’s premier research institutions dedicated to mental health. It is dedicated to research in psychiatry, addiction medicine, psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy, neuroscience, clinical psychology, medical sociology and epidemiology. The Institute has been a Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health with the WHO since 1980. The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (CAP) at the CIMH, headed by Prof. Tobias Banaschewski, specializes in psychiatric treatment and research in neuropsychiatric disorders (e.g., ADHD, Conduct Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Tourette Syndrome and Autism). CAP CIMH has been involved in several international collaborations including various multisite treatment trials. The CAP CIMH also has extensive experience in the management (WP leadership, country coordinator responsibilities) and implementation of EU projects e.g., the IMAGEN, PERS, STOP, ADDUCE, TACTICS, MATRICS, AGGRESSOTYPE and Eat2beNice project. In PRIME, together with other partners, CIMH will be responsible for the work package “clinical guidelines, policy and dissemination”.
